Head Spa or Hair Therapy? The Difference and Which Suits You
The two terms are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same. Hair therapy focuses on the hair; a head spa combines hair care with water therapy and massage.

The short difference
Hair therapy usually refers to treatments targeting the hair strand and scalp: nourishing masks, serum applications, courses aimed at hair loss.
A head spa is a holistic ritual that combines hair care with water therapy, aromatherapy and a head–neck–shoulder massage. The goal is not only how the hair looks, but the health of the scalp and the relaxation of the body.
Our Signature Head Massage falls into the head spa category.
What hair therapy solves
Hair therapy makes sense when the problem is in the hair itself: damaged ends, dryness after colouring, frizz, a dull look. Treatments are usually short and the result is visible immediately.
However, complaints such as hair loss or itching often originate not in the strand but in the scalp. Blocked follicles, dryness, product build-up or stress-related circulation issues disrupt the ground that feeds the hair. In that case, care applied only to the hair stays superficial.
What a head spa solves
A head spa puts the scalp at the centre. The session begins with a scalp analysis assessing dryness, oiliness and sensitivity. Then the right natural oil is chosen — argan, coconut or lavender.
Warm oil is worked into the roots and the scalp is cleansed alongside water therapy. Product build-up is released and circulation supported.
The final stage is the head, neck and shoulder massage. This part is not about the hair; it is about releasing the muscular tension built up through the day. It is usually the part clients talk about most.
Which one suits you?
Choose hair therapy if the problem is visible and in the strand — dryness, damage, post-colour care.
Choose a head spa if you experience hair loss, itching or an oily scalp; or if your complaint is less about hair and more about stress, sleep and neck–shoulder tension.
They do not have to be alternatives. As regular head spa sessions improve the condition of the scalp, treatments applied to the hair also last longer.
